KLEIN FOREST INTERACT CLUB

The Klein Forest Interact club strives to create a positive change in our community by promoting international understanding through service. The Klein Forest Interact Club has grown from 20 members in 2011 to 281 members in 2018. We grew from 500 total service hours in 2011 to 4000 in 2018. Our success is primarily due to connecting students to a network of friendship, engagement and action in the community.  Our students truly believe in the value of helping others in the community, and this sincere motivation breeds effective community service.  We have helped a variety of causes, such as Spina Bifida, Breast Cancer, Polio, Hermann Park Conservancy, Child hunger, and Child literacy. Our young people care about where they live and are willing to make a commitment to improve it.

We  motivate students to recruit their friends at school to participate in community service so that these guests will come to an event, enjoy it, and want to experience more.  Projects are chosen based on the interests of the students, and this leads to increased involvement. The campus sponsor Mr. Jarrod Collins,  advises students on “best practices” based on his own experience in community service organizations, such as Boy Scouting and the community service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. As a group, we attempt to complete 2-3 community service projects and 1 fellowship activity every month.

The Klein Forest Interact club dedicates ourselves to providing experiential learning opportunities  in order to respond to the needs of the community and to deepen student awareness of social issues. Through direct learning, we encourage students to make a lifelong commitment to responsible citizenship and community involvement. We are sponsored by the Willowbrook Rotary and grateful for their time and support to our many causes.
